Once again, Lego has done a great job in authentically reproducing a much-loved icon from the Star Wars universe. It has taken a little while though – this version is actually the 4th of the Slave 1 (including versions owned by Jango Fett, Boba's father)
In the old IV-V-VI trilogy, this ship was only shown in 2 scenes, but Boba Fett has become such a popular Star Wars character that many people have been keen to snap up their very own model of the iconic Slave 1. So much so that the 8097 (2010) model has been on the best-seller list at Amazon since its release.

- The set comes with 3 large bags of parts and a separate windshield.
- There is a multitude of stickers, and 2 substantial instruction manuals, to take you right through the process of building your masterpiece from beginning to end.
- Although the size of this model is similar to the previous 2006 released model, the design and color palette have been revamped to look WAY cooler.
- The ship now includes a flick-fire missile system which can shoot further than the usual 3 inches
- A hidden-weapon section with a complex arm mechanism that shoots further flick missiles
- Cargo hold is under the boarding ramp, and is designed to house the carbonite-frozen form of Han Solo.
- Ultra cool redesign Boba Fett figurine, now comprising 7 parts
- Released as part of Boba Fett's 30th 'birthday'. The actual Bobo Fett figurine has been revamped, and now is made up of 7 pieces instead of the previous 4. These are the helmet, the head, the jetpack, movable range-finder antennae piece, Cape, legs, and torso, (which has a standout decal- or printed design)
- Bossk – a lizard-like rival bounty hunter, and an arch-enemy of Boba Fett, This figurine has superb detail, very accurate to the actual character in the Star Wars movies
- The Han Solo figurine is relatively unremarkable, but in the 8097 model, there is a Much better carbonite Hansicle design than previous issues. The standard Han Solo figurine fits inside the carbonite block
- Total of 573 pieces
This model is extremely popular, has been selling like hotcakes since its release, and most star review systems on fans sites rate this Lego offering as a strong 4 out of 5.
Some people who have purchased this set feel that the lack of detail in the cock pit is a drawback, but is more than made up for with the detail of the minifigures, and the sturdy and attractive design of the ship itself.
